Heroes of the Past is here to connect you with your family’s history.  Not just names and dates, but who they were and what their lives were like.  Whether you need an accurate family tree, a complex family history problem solved, proof for a lineage society, or want a book telling the story of your family, Heroes of the Past is the solution.   You will never meet your ancestors, but they are part of your family.

Clients are number one at Heroes of the Past.  Our relationship will start with a free conversation on your goals for the research, what you can expect, how long it will take, and how we should proceed.  Once we know your desires, we will proceed, keeping in touch along the way and informing you of any changes.

We Go Where Your Family History Takes Us

Heroes of the Past does research nationwide.   Through the billions of records and resources available on the internet, we can learn about your ancestors from any state.  After scouring online family history sites, digitized books, journal articles, maps, records, archives, and other sources, if on site research is needed, we can meet that need.  After consulting with you, our staff or our network of professionals from across the country will research those records that can only be found in the location where your family member lived. Our researchers are constantly sharpening their skills.  We attend conferences, take classes, in person and online, and are constantly reading, taking every opportunity to provide you with the best possible outcome.  Our researchers have taken an oath as members of the Association of Professional Genealogists to uphold the highest standards in genealogy.

Do I Have Heroes in My Past?

It is easy to believe that our pasts contain no Heroes.  We have heard it said “My ancestors were common folk, just farmers, merchants, or factory workers.”
A farmer, who with an axe, cleared a portion of virgin forest, with trees 4-5 feet in diameter so close you could touch two with outstretched arms…
A merchant, who loaded a wagon with household supplies, and ventured out into a countryside full of robbers who would deprive him of his money, his goods, or his life; through a land where the first inhabitants thought he was trespassing, in order to bring others much needed supplies…
A factory worker, who did not have the benefit of labor laws or safety regulations, who worked 12 hours a day, six days a week, often in a dangerous environment to provide for their family…
